Welcome to the February 2024 edition of 'The Lookout'

Kia ora koutou

Welcome to The Lookout, bringing you a global perspective on issues that matter.

In our first edition for 2024, we put In Focus a recent article from Executive Director of the Institute's Business and Society Programme, Judy Samuelson, on How Boards, Investors, and Workers Can Support CEOs to tackle critical issues. Judy will moderate our upcoming Socrates Seminar, with registration open today - details below.

Leadership in Action introduces Aspen Digital's AI Elections Initiative which recommends strategies to mitigate the potential threats posed by generative AI and deep fakes in the upcoming US elections. Followed by an In Depth report on Building Bridges, Earning Trust: The WHY and the HOW of Public Trust in Science, which investigates why public trust in science has been wavering, and what can be done to improve it.

Next Thursday we'll be hosting our second NZ-India online forum, Technology and Digital Cooperation with Ananta Aspen Centre. Looking ahead, we're excited to announce the details for our inaugural Socrates Seminar, The Future of Business - How to Create Real Value in a Changing World to be held in May in Queenstown. Followed by our new Evidence and Values Based Decision Making Course, in collaboration with the Parliamentary Education Trust, being run exclusively for all Members of Parliaments in Wellington.

We encourage you to get involved - don't miss out. Secure your place for the International Dialogue with India and the Socrates Seminar by registering today. Contact us directly to book the transformative EVBDM Course for your organisation.

As always, feel free to customise the content in a way that works for you, and to share it with friends. We hope you enjoy it!
