Scholarship Recipient Announced for Global Changemakers Workshop in Bogotá

2025 Global Changemakers Workshop -

Price of Passage: Borders & Belonging

We are delighted to announce Archie Ritchie as this year’s Aspen Institute New Zealand scholarship recipient for the 2025 Global Changemakers Workshop in Bogotá, Colombia.

This year’s theme, Price of Passage: Borders & Belonging, will explore the complexities and consequences of migration in today’s world, from the personal to the political, and the ethical to the economic.

Archie is a Law Clerk at Russell McVeagh in Wellington and a committed Aspen NZ alumnus, having participated in three Aspen seminars. He brings a deep interest in how public policy, economics, and the rule of law intersect, particularly in the context of migration and its impact on liberal democracies. His thoughtful contributions and global mindset make him a strong representative for New Zealand in this international dialogue.

The workshop will take place from 1–5 October 2025, bringing together emerging leaders from across the Aspen International Partners network to examine the structural, social, and ethical dimensions of migration through Aspen-style seminars and collaborative problem-solving.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Archie and look forward to seeing how this experience shapes his future leadership journey.

Thank you to all applicants for their thoughtful submissions, and to the Aspen Institute’s International Partners team in Washington, D.C., for making this unique opportunity possible.
