Position:

The Aspen Institute New Zealand is seeking a Communications Co-ordinator to deliver the organisation’s online presence and tell our story. This position will produce and post content about the Institute's work in New Zealand and manage the organisation’s social media channels, newsletters, and event materials.

 

You will have strong writing and editing skills, and experience in the creation and delivery of digital communications. Exceptional attention to detail is key as well as the ability to be self-motivated as you will work remotely.

 

Ideally, you will live in or near Queenstown, and available for up to 15 hours per week. The ability to be responsive during deadlines is critical.  

 

Responsibilities:

·        Compiling, creating, and editing of digital communications.

·        Hubspot management and template design.

·        Website maintenance and updating of copy and images.

·        Social media management and delivery including templates, content plan and regular posts.

·        Compiling, editing and copyright approval of event materials.

·        Excellent digital skills across channels.

·        Excellent written communication and editing skills.

·        Flexible with initiative, respond quickly and meet deadlines.

·        Work both independently and with direction.

 

Knowledge, Education and Experience:

Qualified candidates should have the following:

  • B.A., Journalism, Graphic Design, Marketing, or equivalent degree required.

  • Relevant and current work experience.

  • Strong IT skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Hubspot, Canva, Squarespace, Web and Graphic Design/layout tools, and posting on social media platforms.

  • Track record of high-impact narrative development that engages audiences across sectors and channels.

  • Robust ability to meet deadlines.

  • If applicable, an appropriate work visa.

 

Level of Authority:

  • Non-supervisory position

  • No budget authority
