Aspen Summer Series 2023: Geopolitical Challenges

Geopolitical Challenges in our Region

and what this means for New Zealand:

Indo Pacific | February 2nd | 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm (closed)

North Asia | February 16th | 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm (closed)

Great Power Rivalry | March 2nd | 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Our relationship with the South Pacific is deeply rooted, and we have strongly supported the Asia Pacific regional order for the past 30 years, but with increasing interest from the US and China, will New Zealand continue to have a significant influence? What is the future of Taiwan? What is the role of India? Is it the revival of the Great Powers or not? How will NZ engage if security becomes threatened in the region?

These are some of the geopolitical challenges present in our neighbourhood. Is NZ doing enough for our own security or that of our neighbours?

With NZ's top experts on the geopolitical challenges in our area, including Sir Don McKinnon, Rosemary Banks, Prof Robert Patman, Suzannah Jessep, Dr Alan Bollard and more, these forums are not to be missed!

Join us for the unique Aspen experience, where our moderators challenge our expert panellists' differing points of view, presenting diverse perspectives and allowing for freedom of expression in a civil environment. The audience is not merely there to watch but to participate and meet with the experts. Based on the Institute's four principles, this formula provides trust-worthy content attributed to knowledge, fact and broad perspectives that enrich one's understanding of the topic.
