Aspen Dialogue Lunch: Indo Pacific - Navigating The Next Decade

We are honoured to host Professor Ramesh Thakur at our upcoming International Dialogue Lunch on 10 August, at The Northern Club in Auckland.

Professor Thakur is a distinguished scholar, commentator, and international public servant, including former Assistant Secretary-General of the UN, whose career, while centred around disarmament, has touched on all aspects of regional and global affairs. As the Director of the Centre for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament (CNND) at The Australian National University, and co-Convenor of the Asia-Pacific Leadership Network for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament (APLN), his expertise is unparalleled. He was a Professor of International Relations at the University of Otago and has authored numerous books, including Global Governance and the UN (Indiana University Press).

Professor Thakur will give an opening address, followed by a lightly guided conversation on the challenges facing the Indo Pacific in the coming decade, with closing remarks from the Rt. Hon. Sir Don McKinnon, former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
